Delta Neretva valley is situated on the south coast of the Adriatic Sea. This is a unique natural phenomenon and one of the most beautiful regions in Croatia. It has the largest and most valuable remnants of the Mediterranean wetlands on the east Adriatic coast. Five locations, with a total area of 1.620 hectares, have been protected as an ornithological reserve. With many bird species and because of the importance of the delta for bird migration, this area was given international importance. Today it represents an important agricultural area, known especially by citrus fruits. Thanks to preserved nature, this area is very popular for ecotourism and photo-safari which offers unique tours by traditional Neretva boats. Because of the Neretva River estuary, where the river flows into the Adriatic Sea, a favorable wind, sandy beaches and shallow waters, this area is very popular for Kitesurfers, especially for the beginners.
