Bacina Lakes
Bacina Lakes are located around 30 kilometers from Zivogosce Blato (direction map is attached below the text)..
Bacina Lakes represent a beautiful area of clean and pure nature. They consist of seven lakes, of which six of them form a blue collar. Lakes are located near the port of Ploce and the estuary of the Neretva River, between the Adriatic Sea and the southern slopes of the Nature Park Biokovo.
The lakes are relatively small, but are among the most interesting phenomena in karst hydrography. The bottom of Bacina lakes is below sea level, and their surface areas above sea level, which makes this area very attractive for active holidays.
Bacina Lakes are formed of six connected lakes and one separated lake. Crnisevo lake is 34 meters deep which makes him the deepest lake there. Only one lake, Vrbnik, is not connected to the other lakes and it is the smallest lake of all seven of them.
Lakes have exceptional natural value because they are the habitat of a large number of protected and endemic plants and animals species. Six of 24 fish species that live there are the endemic ones.
The natural environment of Bacina Lakes is the perfect place for various sports such as running, biking, trekking and paddle surf. Lakes are always a bit warmer than the sea, which makes them suitable and attractive for swimming. There you can experience the perfect adventure holiday:
