Međugorje (BiH)

Medjugorje is around 70 kilometers away from Zivogosce Blato (direction map is attached below the text).

Medjugorje is one of the most famous Roman Catholic shrines in the world.

It became famous because of the Virgin Mary apparitions which was first started in 1981. Međugorje began to develop religious tourism after that. Since then, this place is one of the most visited tourist centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has around a million Catholics visitors from around the world every year.

Unlike the shrine Lourdes in France, which has developed quite commercial facilities over the years, the Shrine of Medjugorje is still retained its original charm, where pilgrims find a peace in faith.

Shrine of Medjugorje is officially called The Sanctuary of Queen of Peace.
